First established in 1440 Organised by the Rotary Club of Chertsey
The Black Cherry Fair Princesses have been a central part of the fair for over thirty years. Every year one girl is chosen to represent each of the following Chertsey Schools:-
Pyrcroft Grange Primary School
Stepgates Community School
St. Anne's Catholic Primary School
The Princesses are announced at a special ceremony to be held this year at Stepgates School in June. Each Princess receives:-
£30 prize
Bouquet of Flowers
Presentation sash
Tiara
On the day of the fair they also receive a commemorative necklace and lead the Procession on the Young's Brewery Dray
Each School receives a £30 donation.
YOU CAN SEE THE PRINCESSES IN FULL MEDIEVAL COSTUME AT THE FRONT OF THE PROCESSION AND AT THE BLACK CHERRY FAIR.
