Our stalls

There are over 100 stalls at the Black Cherry Fair. Go shopping with some of our favourites
busy bees.jpg

Busy Bees’ honey making skills originate from years of experience passed down from generation to generation in Moldova. Eduard Birsan developed his passion for honey making from his father, who also was a bee keeper. He built his knowledge and expertise by attending a beekeeping course in Moldova. In England, Eduard started his honey making career with only two bee hives as a hobby and to boost his family’s good health through high-quality honey. At present Eduard and his wife, Stela, are keeping bee hives in Staines and Maidenhead Holyport Farm.  The honey is 100% pure and raw, as nature intended. No chemicals or antibiotics are used in the bees management and honey is extracted on the premises.

cas steamy passion.png

I am a local artist and I have had a stall at the Black Cherry Fair for some years now. It’s a wonderful event for all the family but unfortunately, it’s not possible to hold it this year due to COVID-19

I’m rather a fan of steam trains, hence the name, ‘CAROLE’S STEAMY PASSION’ and you can generally find me and my camera at Chertsey Railway Station when one is due to pass or stop for water. I have sold quite a few paintings from my photos at the station and I have printed mugs and postcards for sale also.

I do a lot of upcycling by painting on hand saws, trowels, mirrors, wood, CDs and bottles, you name it? If it doesn’t move, I‘ll paint on it! Though not a comprehensive album of my art, my website offers for sale prints of my work and many other items ie. T-shirts, shower curtains, cushions, bath towels, beach towels even more recently, face masks!!!

If you would like to purchase or see any of my original work, including watercolours, acrylics, painted objects eg. saws, bottle lamps, CD Clocks etc. my e-mail address is :- carole.robins1@virginmedia.com and my mobile number is 07787550509. Many thanks!

chertsey woolcraft guild.jpg

Chertsey Woolcraft Guild is a group interested in any traditional crafts and skills related to wool.

The majority of the members start with a fleece and prepare it for spinning into yarn, either on a drop spindle or on a wheel. The yarn is then used for knitting, crocheting and weaving. Occasionally we hold in-house workshops on dying, felting and unusual spinning and knitting techniques.

If you are interested in finding out more about what we do or would like to join us, please contact Marion Borthwick on 07778441682 or email on marionborthwick2506@gmail.com,  or come to one of our workshops at The Old School Room, Church Hill, Pyrford, GU22 8XH

The Fairy Toadstool

https://www.thefairytoadstool.co.uk/

I have loved fairies and enchantment since I was a little girl. My aunt bought me a flower fairy book when I was seven years old and since then my passion for all things fairy and magical has grown and grown.

I made my goddaughter a fairy door for her birthday and when she opened it up I saw her face light up and so she was hooked just like me. Through word of mouth I started to make more fairy doors for friends and decided to expand into fairy dresses and headbands until one day “The Fairy Toadstool” was born.

I love thinking of and creating my fairy inspired gifts and hope you will love them too.

boast.jpg

P Boast & Son funeral furnishers of Chertsey was established in 1904 by Peter Boast, a local builder during the week and funeral director at the weekends. At the time, Peter was known locally as the ‘poor man’s undertaker’, as he provided a service for members of the community who couldn’t afford to take time off work for a weekday funeral.

In the early 50s Peter’s son Leonard Boast joined the firm. Leonard was based at the long-standing family premises at 36 Eastworth Road where the business still runs to this day.

In 1963 Leonard’s son Peter Boast joined the family business straight from school, working closely with his father to learn the funeral business. Peter took over the family funeral business and years later encouraged his own son Matthew Boast to join the business, following in his own footsteps.
